3.1. Installing Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7

Before you install Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7, review these additional installation notes and verify related product or third-party product requirements.

3.1.1. Installing from scratch

Even though this is a patch, you can use it to install Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7 from scratch. Please refer to the Installation Guide for more details on a new installation.

Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7 is only compatible with Web Experience Management 16.7. This patch should not be installed with previous versions of Web Experience Management.

If you have a new installation of Web Experience Management 16.7, use the installation from scratch in order to create a new Audit installation.

3.1.2. Patching a previous installation

Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7 is only compatible with Web Experience Management 16.7. This patch should not be installed with previous versions of Web Experience Management.

If you upgraded from an old Web Experience Management version to Web Experience Management 16.7, and you already had Audit installed, you can use this patch to update your Audit installation.

In order to upgrade from a previous version, follow the required steps to install Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7 as a cumulative patch.

Remember to apply the patch firstly in secondary nodes and finally in the primary one.

Patching secondary nodes:

  1. Run the Web Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7 installer.

  2. Choose the option number 3, "Upgrade WEM Audit Cumulative Patch"

  3. Choose the option number 2, "Apply the Audit Cumulative Patch on Web Experience Management cluster secondary node".

  4. When prompted, set the path pointing where you already have Audit installed.

  5. And set the path where OpenText WEM is installed (the directory should contain the Content subfolder).

  6. Restart the non-primary Web Experience Management node.

Patching the primary node:

  1. Run theWeb Experience Management Audit 16.2.2 Patch 16.7 installer.

  2. Choose the option number 3, "Upgrade WEM Audit Cumulative Patch"

  3. Choose the option number 1, "Apply the Audit Cumulative Patch on Web Experience Management cluster principal node".

  4. When prompted, set the path pointing where you already have Audit installed.

  5. And set the path where OpenText WEM is installed (the directory should contain the Content subfolder).

  6. The following step will update the database tables, so the Audit database information will be requested. You should provide the connection details for your current Audit database.

  7. The Web Experience Management Server (VgnVCMServer) connection data is requested.

  8. Restart the Web Experience Management Server (VgnVCMServer).
