2. About Fuse Management Central

This section provides an overview of Fuse Management Central version 1.7.0.

Fuse Management Central is a centralized web administration console for OpenText ™ solutions, providing Self-Managed Customers or Managed Service Providers with a Unified Management Experience. With its intuitive user interface and simplified deployment, OpenText ™ system administrators can now interact directly from a system component, maintaining context and understanding of it, with the option to schedule any action.

Fuse Management Central also separates system administration from content administration, introducing a new layer of security on top of the traditional OpenText ™ administration tools.

2.1. What is New in Release 1.7.0

Fuse Management Central 1.7.0 includes the following innovations:

2.2. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union (EU) law that provides residents with greater protection and control over their personal data. It regulates the collection, storage, transfer, and usage of data by companies both inside and outside the EU. All companies that process data of EU residents are required to comply with GDPR, which came into effect on May 25, 2018.

GDPR defines the following rights for the EU citizens:

  • Right to be informed

  • Right of access

  • Right to rectification

  • Right to object

  • Right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten")

  • Right to data portability

  • Right to restrict processing

  • Rights regarding automated decision-making and/or profiling

Companies use Fuse Management Central products to monitor and manage the performance and quality of their OpenText ™ systems, which by default, do not track personal data.

For these reasons, Fuse Management Central is and must be GDPR compliant.

5. Upgrade Notes

If there is already a version of Fuse Management Central installed, it is possible to upgrade it to version 1.7.0.

When planning the Fuse Management Central upgrade, please carefully review all upgrade steps outlined in the installation and administration document!
Please have in consideration the following known issues:
- known issue with JVM error in OTCS 23.x
- known issue with OTCS Service Report
- known issue with Fuse Management Central data

For upgrade instructions please refer to the Fuse Management Central Installation and Administration Guide.

6. Fixed Issues and Enhancements

Fuse Management Central 1.7.0 introduces a range of fixed issues and enhancements.
Below is a comprehensive list of the improvements and resolved issues included in this release:

  • 3173 - Content Overview does not display or respect the Systems filter.

  • 3174 - The order of threads in the table is lost after an auto-refresh.

  • 3183 - OTCS client logs settings are reset after an upgrade.

  • 3199 - Null value in the email subject.

  • 3288 - In the card-chart for Distributed Agents Status, the "Status" filter becomes significantly smaller at lower resolutions, even though there’s ample space for its normal size.

  • 3311 - Cursors are not consistent on the Systems table or the environment details table.

  • 3314 - The Storage Provider card on an Environment details page appears unformatted at lower resolutions.

  • 3340 - The delete toast does not disappear.

  • 3369 - Threads Dashboard filter issues.

  • 3404 - Default owner email problem.

  • 3409 - Some filters are not working as expected on the Systems page.

  • 3410 - The toast for the Running Operations is sometimes blank.

  • 3413 - Deactivating a Distributed Agent returns an error under specific conditions.

  • 3417 - Failure when configuring a OTAC volume attached to a pool.

  • 3419 - The action button "Update Status" doesn’t disappear when unchecking the checkbox.

  • 3422 - Search bar for content in Logs is not working properly under specific conditions.

  • 3442 - System/Environment tags filters do not clear out after being triggered.

  • 3443 - Threads table "Index ID" does not filter correctly.

  • 3454 - Error deserializing metrics database query result.

  • 3455 - Invalid MIME type when downloading.

  • 3456 - CSIDE mode metric is not being sent on Fuse OTCS Client startup.

  • 3459 - SMTP configuration and health check go wrong after a server restart.

  • 3465 - The status of a Multi-Operation running is not correct.

  • 3466 - Dropdown selector is not functioning properly.

  • 3467 - The duration of operations that need a restart is incorrect.

  • 3484 - Some system configurations cannot be found under specific conditions.

  • 3504 - Selecting a parent filter does not work.

  • 3534 - OTAC job scheduler options details are not formatted correctly.

  • 3545 - Javascript errors in the Dashboard Page.

  • 3551 - Review the Donut charts on Service Reports.

  • 3562 - Fix the error message on the placeholders in SMTP.

  • 3564 - OTCS setting EnableConfiguration in opentext.ini no longer exists.

  • 3569 - Values shown on the tooltip of SOV chart are incorrect.

  • 3572 - The Server Port setting is not displayed correctly on Non-Compliant view details.

  • 3573 - There is an error on the console when the Apply Later action is selected on the Configuration Policies page.

  • 3574 - The external links are not working under specific conditions.

  • 3575 - The modal does not show the full list of Configuration Policies.

  • 3582 - Data Volume widget in the Dashboard does not correctly aggregate all data.

  • 3585 - Extra numbers appear under the pagination footer & the pagination numbers are not fully displayed on the Operations page.

  • 3588 - The job surpassed the 10-minute timeout of an operation.

  • 3604 - Edit Operations modal needs to be fixed.

  • 3607 - There is a bug in OtacSystemDetailsPage in OTAC.

  • 3608 - Operations inside a scheduled job block get deleted if the system gets deactivated.

  • 3609 - Dava Volume chart is not being displayed on the Environment Details page.

  • 3610 - There is a spacing issue in the Stats banner.

  • 3611 - Environment JSON has a password field.

  • 3615 - There are errors in logging on the Login page in Devtools.

  • 3616 - There is a buggy interaction when hovering over class "danger" buttons.

  • 3621 - OTAC Service Database tooltip on version 24.1 has the same problem as before.

  • 3622 - The search bar border-radius of a Pool from Original Archives is incorrect.

  • 3623 - The database icon appears disabled.

  • 3635 - SOV metrics are not being received in OTCS 24.1.

  • 3636 - It seems like something is missing in this specific alert "Mail Status".

  • 3638 - Unable to authenticate user when exists in multiple OTDS partitions.

  • 3640 - The caption is not aligned with the graphic bars in the Service Report.

  • 3642 - There is a wrong legend in the service report.

  • 3644 - An extra dot appears on the "Pending Activation" status.

  • 3648 - Review the OTCS & OTAC query for fetching the number of systems in the Service Report.

  • 3649 - Review the Total Alerts [3.1.5] graphic values/queries in the Service Report.

  • 3655 - Review the percentage of Offline displayed on circle charts.

  • 3657 - Threads chart cells cannot be clicked.

  • 3658 - The tooltip gets hidden on the chart’s margin.

  • 3659 - Tooltip text is missing on QUEUES echart.

  • 3660 - Tooltip with Env ID instead of name on Distributed Agents.

  • 3661 - The Distributed Agent chart on the Dashboard has incorrect info.

  • 3663 - Caption inside the pie chart needs adjustment.

  • 3664 - Configuring the Content Overview chart on Env details requires attention.

  • 3666 - Tooltip info is not compliant with the legend values on the Env Details page.

  • 3668 - Unformatted echart on the Env Overview.

  • 3670 - Multiple TimeMachine issues after the eCharts implementation.

  • 3671 - Unformatted Y axis in the Statistics chart on the Performance tab in OTAC.

  • 3672 - Review the Alerts Overview & Total Alerts queries in the Service Report.

  • 3677 - When running a Scheduled job with multiple operations, we get a 500 error.

  • 3678 - The Options button is not visible on a Log document when opened.

  • 3679 - Navigator action button is misaligned on the logs page.

  • 3689 - Series chart loads even if there is no data.

  • 3706 - Migration & Timestamp services restart are not functioning correctly in OTAC.

  • 3711 - last_metrics_info has outdated data under specific conditions.

  • 3713 - Fix "thread_avg_execution_time_high" Email Subject for Empty Values.

  • 3723 - PD-121-56 reports as Offline when it is Online, and reports Deactivated when it is activated.

  • 3728 - The system does not display an error message indicating that the password field is required.

  • 3730 - Status tooltip is displaying "Unknown" on Agents.

  • 3732 - Admin Server Action should only be executed on OTCS system.

  • 3736 - In environments details, the chart for longest requests is not showing the bottom label.

  • 3737 - Progress bar in bulk operations is malfunctioning.

  • 3740 - The Avg. Memory Usage chart disappears at low resolutions.

  • 3743 - Warning and Error alert notifications are sent for the same problem under specific conditions.

  • 3745 - Error adding a new storage provider.

  • 3754 - Page lock occurs when filtering and searching for pipeline documents.

  • 3758 - Loader icon is displayed yellow (warning mode) when it’s not, even on deactivated Loaders.

  • 3764 - Chart tooltips are being cut off under specific conditions.

  • 3769 - Filter "System Type" is not working on the Operations page.

  • 3773 - Missing info when editing a partition in SOV.

  • 3774 - There is no "Add to Scheduled Operation" option in the update partition in SOV.

  • 3776 - Status tooltip is displaying "Unknown" on Original Archives.

  • 3777 - Wrong "Detail" info is displayed on Buffers.

  • 3778 - Cannot save SMTP settings.

  • 3779 - The most recent operation that is running appears at the bottom of the last page in Maintenance Windows Executions.

  • 3781 - When more than one Service is disabled, the captions overlap each other in Alertmanager.

  • 3785 - When opening the SMTP service row, we display error toasts for different services not specific to the SMTP in Integration Channels.

  • 3791 - Traces of the last Echart viewed appear below the current Echart when changing through different Echart tabs all over Fuse.

  • Other minor issues…​

7. Known Issues

7.1. "Could not find the class definition" llserverworker JVM error

Occasionally, in OpenText Content Server version 23.x, there is a rare issue encountered when restarting OpenText Content Server via Fuse Management Central. This triggers a soft restart, but sometimes the Fuse Management Client fails to load properly due to the incorrect loading of the required Java libraries (.jar). Currently, the workaround for this issue is to manually restart the OTCS service, forcing the reload of all the Java libraries and resolving the problem.

Based on our investigations, it appears that this behavior is related to the internal restart process of OpenText Content Server 23.x and is beyond the control of our module. We are actively analyzing this behavior and investigating the issue under the OT Ticket CS0150019 - OTCS 23.1 and 23.2 - llserverworker JVM 'could not find the class definition' error.

7.2. No Service Report past metric data after upgrading

Due to changes to the Service Report functionality on Fuse Management Central version 1.5.1, updating the calculation formulas was necessary to fulfill several roadmap requirements. These formulas are pre-computed, which means they calculate data based on previous metrics in real time. As a result, if you are upgrading from Fuse Management Central version 1.5.0 or below, none of the past metric data will be available for the Service Report.

After the upgrade, new system metric data will need to be collected, computed and stored before being available to the Service Report.

7.3. No Fuse Management Central data after upgrading

With Fuse Management Central version upgrade, the PostgreSQL has also been updated, delivering all the improvements and fixed security vulnerabilities that the latest version offers. If you choose to upgrade without following all the steps outlined in the Fuse Management Central Installation and Administration Guide, especially the step describing the need to make a dump of the database and restore it after the upgrade, all data stored in Fuse Management Central will be lost.

It is imperative to make backup copies of your data through the database dump process, as there are no other solutions to this issue.
