2. About Fuse Management Central

This section provides an overview of Fuse Management Central version 1.4.0.

Fuse Management Central is a centralized web administration console for OpenText ™ solutions, providing to Self-Managed Customers or Managed Service Providers a Unified Management Experience. With Fuse Management Central intuitive user interface simplified deployment, OpenText ™ system administrators can now interact directly from a system component, maintaining the context and understanding of it, with the option to schedule any action.

Fuse Management Central also separates system administration from content administration, introducing a new layer of security on top of the traditional OpenText ™ administration tools.

2.1. What’s New in Release 1.4.0

The following section details all relevant changes in Fuse Management Central 1.4.0, whether new features or discontinued and/or deprecated ones.

2.1.1. New Features and Enhancements

Fuse Management Central 1.4.0 includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • OpenText Archive Center is now a fully managed OpenText solution inside Fuse Management Central, with more to come but already covering a wide set of component management, including:

    • Logical Archives (Original and External)

    • Buffers

    • Storage Devices

    • Disk Volumes

    • Services

    • Statistics

    • …​and much more!

  • Both the Dashboard and Environments can now have mixed OpenText solution types, allowing an hybrid and unified view over OpenText Content Server and OpenText Archive server clusters, providing a unique user management experience.

  • Extended ECM components are now being monitored, including:

    • Business Applications

    • Scheduled Processing

    • Licensing Status

    • …​and much more!

  • A brand new Alerts REST API is now available, allowing Fuse Management Central to quickly be integrated with any centralized monitoring platform.

  • OOTB integration with Checkmk, one of the leading tools for Infrastructure and Application Monitoring, Open Source and Enterprise.

  • More than 80 preconfigured alerts, overwatching both OpenText Content Server and OpenText Archive Center health, performance, best practices, configurations and much more…​

  • Fuse Management Client for OpenText Content Server logic, performance and log improvements.

  • Technological base updates.

  • Several UI/UX enhancements.

2.2. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union (EU) law that gives residents greater protection and control of their personal data. It regulates the data companies inside and outside the EU can collect, store, and transfer – as well as how they use it. All companies that process EU resident data must comply with GDPR, starting on May 25, 2018.

GDPR defines the following rights for the EU citizens:

  • Right to be informed

  • Right of access

  • Right to rectification

  • Right to object

  • Right to erasure ("the right to be forgotten")

  • Right to data portability

  • Right to restrict processing

  • Rights regarding automated decision-making and/or profiling

Companies use Fuse Management Central products to monitor and manage their OpenText ™ systems performance and quality of services which, by default, don’t track personal data.

For these reasons, Fuse Management Central is and must be GDPR compliant.

4.4. Hardware Requirements

This section provides details about Fuse Management Central hardware requirements:

  • Minimum: 4 CPU @ 2GHz

  • Recommended: 8 CPU @ 2GHz

Memory

  • Minimum: 8GB

  • Recommended: 16GB

Disk Space

  • Minimum: 50GB

  • Recommended: 100GB
Disk space consumption has an estimated growth of ~0.1GB/day/system and this data is kept for 15 days by default, for long term metrics.

5. Upgrade Notes

If there is already a version of Fuse Management Central installed, it is possible to upgrade it to version 1.4.0.
